In the 119 years since the infamous Whitechapel Murders, the shadowy figure of Jack the Ripper has inspired hours of research and debate, along with a plethora of books, movies and websites.
Theories-fanciful, quotidian, or just plain strange-abound. Some are supported by meticulous research, others fly in the face of all available evidence.
This blog will present news, reviews, information and commentary on the case. Comments are welcome--encouraged even. Two caveats though: I'm not doing your homework assignment for you so don't ask; and I'm not able to send hard copies of any research materials that I post (I can't afford it for one).
About Me
I've been interested in the Ripper case for over 20 years, and have been involved in researching and writing about many aspects of the case.
There's no one suspect of theory I endorse, although there are several that remain on my "short list" of plausible explanations.
Like many long-time affecienados of the case, for me solving the case is secondary to learning as much as possible from it.
